Recent information suggests, sadly, that this new unit will NOT contain two separate DV (AMBE) decoders, thus it may not improve upon the IC-2820H in this regard. I have not confirmed this, however, and it is hard to believe if true. Considering the retail price of this unit appears to be $829 US funds, with a likely street price of approximately $799, if such is the case then it seems to indicate that Icom is not listening to many hams who would happily pay a bit more for that true dual DV capability. I certainly hope the early information is in error, and that indeed there are two separate and independent DV transceivers, but at this juncture I am sad to report it does not appear to be the case. Oops, Icom.
